The Pacific Union Club is a wonderful location for a fine meal to begin the Holiday Season. This event has become a tradition, and members and their partners and guests enjoyed both Chardonnay and Champagne at the reception. At table in the elegant dining room, with the stain glass of Grace Cathedral and the just-strung Yule lights of Huntington Park beyond the wreathed windows, the first course was vodka-cured salmon presented as a rose bud. Delicious. The rack of lamb was mated well with its St. Emilion. The '91 Corison Cabernet and carefully selected cheeses were made for each other. An evening to remember. (LL)
